Jacqueline “Jax” Armendariz Unzueta
SBA Community Navigator Pilot Program Co-Leader

Jacqueline “Jax” Armendariz Unzueta is a government policy, communications, and community engagement professional with nearly a decade in public service. Most recently, she provided constituent services as a Pueblo & Southeastern Colorado Regional Representative for the U.S. Senate. Her role included a portfolio focus on U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) programs. She is proud to support the critical role small businesses have in the strength of America’s economy by co-directing the SCEDD Community Navigator Pilot Program (CNPP) funded with a two-year SBA grant.

She was born and raised in El Paso, Texas and earned a BA in Journalism and Mass Communications from New Mexico State University in 2008. After career experience in Texas as a newspaper staffer and municipal servant, she gladly answered the call of Colorado’s beautiful mountains in 2016. In her spare time, she enjoys connecting among neighbors through her passion for bikes, appreciating the arts and serving as a volunteer for several community advocacy programs.
