Brent comes to SCEDD following a community banking (that’s Main Street, not Wall Street) career spanning more than forty years. Having been born and raised in Southeast Colorado, then spending the better part of his working career here, he understands the area, how it works, the advantages enjoyed and the challenges faced by all those that call it home. He has a genuine passion for the area and the people who live here.
Among other ways he has served the community as a town council member, school board member, Chamber of Commerce President and member and Lion’s Club President and member, all in communities which are a part of the Southern Colorado Economic Development District.
During his community banking tenure Brent was repeatedly called upon to perform a varied and diversified set of duties and to lead trend setting projects. The resulting successes in those roles, especially after overcoming inherent failures along the way is what motivates Brent to still seek out new opportunities and challenges such as this most recent one with SCEDD.
In his new role with SCEDD Brent is especially excited about and looking forward to completing ‘our immediate priority of updating the district Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy’ and then ‘re-establishing SCEDD as a real working partner to all the communities we serve’ with ‘new ideas and enthusiasm!’
